Maples Group Launches UK Liquidations Services

10 Apr 2024

The Maples Group is pleased to announce the launch of liquidation services to UK companies adding to its comprehensive fiduciary service offering from its London office.  Jorgina Williams, who holds a full UK practicing certificate, will be leading the offering, overseeing client service and delivery.  Jorgina has significant global liquidation experience across several jurisdictions, most recently working with our Cayman Islands team, on a substantial number of voluntary liquidations of both regulated investment funds and structured finance vehicles.

The UK offering is to follow on the Group’s global liquidation services in general, with a focus on voluntary liquidations of companies that have neared the end of their life cycle.

"Given our ever-expanding UK corporate and fiduciary business, the addition of liquidation services was a natural progression to ensure we can service our clients throughout the full life cycle of their UK entities," says Sam Ellis, Head of Fiduciary – London.  "We are delighted to have Jorgina onboard and look forward to working with her on this client-driven expansion of our offering."

Jorgina brings to the UK Liquidations practice years of experience providing voluntary liquidations services to alternative asset fund managers, as well as court-appointed liquidations, estate administrations and controllerships. She is a member of such industry organisations as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, the UK Insolvency Practitioners Association and R3, Insolvency and Restructuring.  Jorgina is a graduate of the University of Reading, where she graduated with a bachelor of law (Honours).

"I am excited to steer course for our clients with UK entities and offer this expanded service," says Jorgina.  "With the addition of this service line it is my hope that we continue to provide the best all-round service throughout the business cycle."

The Global Liquidations team enjoys the strength of the complementary services across the Maples Group, including top compliance, legal, information technology and accounting teams.  The Maples Group has developed a reputation as a leader in the Liquidations space and implements best-practice procedures during each step of the company wind-down process.
