Louise Cowley

Louise is a partner in Maples and Calder’s Corporate team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. She has over 15 years’ experience in Cayman Islands advising financial institutions, investment managers, private equity sponsors, public and private companies, investors and their onshore counsel on a broad range of corporate, investment funds and finance matters.

Louise advises on the structuring, formation and operation of a wide range of investment funds, including private equity funds and hedge funds, with particular experience in funds of hedge funds. Her corporate and finance practice includes IPOs and other capital markets transactions, acting for both issuers and underwriters, as well as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, debt financings and security arrangements.

Louise also regularly advises on digital asset and FinTech matters, including token issuances, blockchain projects and foundation companies. She is a member of the Cayman Finance Industry Advisory Group for FinTech and Virtual Assets.

Louise joined the Maples Group in 2011 and became a partner in 2021. Before that, she spent five years at Norton Rose (now Norton Rose Fulbright) in London.
